Maggie McDermut

I am consistently on the hunt to find what and how others do not see. Whether that leads me to sweeping vistas only accessible from a 100 mile long dirt road, or to noticing the tiniest detail on the local sidewalk, like a leaf imprint, or creating another world using an alternative darkroom process.

I have an inquisitive mind, and have always sought knowledge and information which has informed my keen sense of observation. I have studied Political Science, Photography, Geography, and UI/UX design. Diverse, just like my work history, which ranges from being a political research assistant in the Senate, to coaching a youth climbing team, to working as a social media manager.

I am based in Eagle, CO but frequent my hometown of Santa Barbara, CA to spend time with my family, and am often found -or lost- rambling around the US southwest with my pup Bomba in my imported diesel Toyota Land Cruiser BJ70, named Beastie.

Aside from offroading, my hobbies include hiking, skiing (inbounds and backcountry), horseback riding, trail running, gravel biking, climbing, exploring our national parks, and the simple pleasure of checking out independent coffee shops and craft breweries.
